R&R Audio Services Invests in EAW Radius
A few months ago R&R Audio Systems made an investment in the newest line of line array speakers on the market from EAW, specifically the Radius RSX208L. We were recently contacted by EAW and were honored to have our thoughts in the product catalog for 2017. Needless to say, these things blew us away, and cannot wait to use them all summer. Below is picture of us with some of the new speakers and the press release from EAW. Thanks for reading our first blog,

R & R Audio Services Expands With EAW RADIUS
Whitinsville, MA (February 2017) – Pittsburgh-based R & R Audio Services recently added an Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) RADIUS sound reinforcement system to their inventory. The regional sound company, which supports several outdoor festivals and summer shows, added the RADIUS system to increase options for organizations in the area.
“RADIUS is a true line array with features not found on similar systems on the market,” explains Ron Perchinsky, owner, R & R Audio Services. “Between the Mosaic app and the easy-to-use DSP on the back panel, it takes all of the guess work out of set up.”
The EAW RADIUS Series consists of point source, line source, stage monitor and subwoofer loudspeakers. R & R Audio Services added eight RSX208L line array cabinets with plans to add the RSX18 subwoofer before the summer season begins.
“EAW’s Mosaic software, which provides prediction, control and monitoring of the system, is very user friendly,” adds Perchinsky. “For larger events, it can be used with Dante, or all of the controls are also available through the back of the box for smaller setups. It seriously cuts down on set-up time, letting us know the heights and angles each venue requires.”
The rear panel LCD screen and encoder on each enclosure provides direct access to a wide variety of useful functions. In addition to basic functions such as crossover and delay, users can select from several pre-tuned voicings or even perform an Output Check to verify transducer and amplifier functionality without the need for external equipment. Many model specific functions are also directly accessible from the back panel alone.
The 41 pound RSX208L line array module is loaded with two 8-in woofers and two 1.4-in voice coil compression drivers into a compact 3-way package. The precision engineered design uses the power of both 8-in woofers to deliver low frequency reinforcement while integrating tailored DSP to provide clean mid-range while maintaining both the wide coverage pattern and inherent acoustical symmetry.
“We have nothing but positive feedback from our customers since we have started using RADIUS,” concludes Perchinsky. “This will be our go-to system for the upcoming summer festival season.”
